A recent building project has been selected and analyzed in this exercise. A new design has been created based on the analysis of conditions and quality, resulting in an optimized alternative to the original concept. The plot is located in the «Im Forster» area on the Zürichberg and is a 45,000 m2 private property. It includes the 1931 Villa Forster with a park and garage, gardening to the west, an 1891 chalet in the south-east corner, and new buildings to the west at the edge of the plot. The meadow area is bordered and structured by tall, varying tree belts. 70% of the land remains undeveloped, and the goal of the design was to utilize this space without losing the park-like character. The volume of the design incorporates itself into the landscape, weaving between the trees, as outlined in the landscape plan.
